Passion For Produce and Other Nutrition Programs
Our first graduating class of Passion For Produce volunteer nutrition educators: they are working hard to improve the health of their communities through nutrition education!
Passion For Produce is a growing program in which Second Harvest is training volunteer bilingual nutrition educators, many of whom are also low-income clients, to teach nutrition classes and oversee a fresh produce distribution site. Some of our current sites are:

Second Harvest Food Bank has been providing nutrition education to low-income individuals and families for several years. Agencies serving low-income families and individuals in our service area can request nutrition education presentations and materials by contacting Joel Campos, Food Stamp Outreach Manager, (831) 722-7110 ext 222.
* Diabetes Referrals In partnership with the Diabetes Center in Watsonville, Second Harvest’s Community Food Hotline is providing referrals to various types of information and services for those with, or wishing to test for, diabetes.
