Winner of the Congressional Victory Against Hunger Award,Food For Children provides fresh produce and essential food staples to childrenand families at dozens of sites throughout Santa Cruz County. Fresh and healthyfoods can be rare—and unaffordable—in many low-income communities, but Food ForChildren brings the produce aisle to the neighborhood. Staff offer nutritiontips and menu ideas to help parents prepare the food in healthy ways, so backat home, the whole family eats well, and the kids are taking in not only thevitamins and nutrients they need to learn in school, but also the healthyhabits they need for a successful future. For the past 20 years, the AnnualSanta Cruz Chefs’ Dinner has served as the signature fundraiser for Food ForChildren.
