Outreach Programs

  • Community Food Hotline Referrals
Besides directing callers to sources of food, the Hotline makes referrals to a variety of social and health services. Those in need of food or other services should be referred to the Community Food Hotline at (831) 662-0991.

  • Food Stamp Assistance
Second Harvest's bi-lingual staff are trained to assist low-income individuals with food stamp applications. The Food Stamp Program provides qualified low-income families with an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card that can be used to purchase nutritious food from most food stores and some farmers' markets.

For information on or assistance with or applying for food stamps call Joel Campos, Food Stamp Outreach Manager, (831) 722-7110 ext 220 or e-mail Joel@thefoodbank.org

  • Hunger 101
Schools, civic organizations, companies, churches, clubs and others are invited to learn about Second Harvest Food Bank's efforts to end hunger in our communities. An interactive presentation, Hunger 101, allows participants to learn to make the choices faced by many low-income families grappling with hunger. We also have a variety of presentations appropriate for every age and grade level.
