Weekday Sorts & Saturday Sorts
Volunteers pack and sort produce and other food for distribution.
Volunteers help our agency shoppers check out by weighing and tracking food purchases. Requires the ability to lift 50lbs.
Events & Fundraising
We need help with parades, setting up and taking down local events, fundraising dinners, etc. – all which help collect food and donations for the hungry. You need to have good people skills, be enthusiastic, and be interested in helping the hungry people in our community.
We need help packing food bags, handing out food, and certifying that families are eligible for food for our monthly Emergency Food Assistance Program. This is a drive-through food distribution program that happens on the second Monday of every month, 8:30am – 2:00pm at our warehouse in Watsonville.
Passion For Produce Distribution
The Passion For Produce program distributes healthy produce to low-income families at 30 locations each month as well as providing nutrition education classes and food tasting.
Food for Children Distribution
The Food for Children program distributes healthy food to over 3,500 families each month at 59 different locations. One-hour shifts available are in the afternoon Tues. – Fri. and one Saturday per month. Work involves setting up a table with literature, certifying people are eligible for a food bag, handing out food bags, and returning all paperwork/materials to the driver.
