UCSC Students Donate 532 Pounds of Food

As UCSC students wrapped up the academic year and prepared to move out of student housing, they filled barrels at Zero Waste Move Out Stations around campus with non-perishable food, clothes and blankets that would otherwise be thrown out.

Silas Snyder of UCSC organized the event to reduce waste when students move out at the end of the year. Reusable items get donated instead of tossed. Great idea!

Thanks to Silas and everyone at UCSC for their contribution.
