Tomorrow, Friday April 23, Second Harvest and Watsonville Post Office will kick off the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive at the main post office at 225 Main Street in Watsonville at 9 a.m.
Mayor Luis Alejo will speak at the event as will staff from Second Harvest. They will herald the Stamp Out Hunger drive, which takes place this year on Saturday, May 8. Postal patrons around the county are invited to leave non-perishable items by their mailboxes for letter carriers to collect on behalf of Second Harvest. This food drive provides a much-needed infusion of shelf-stable items during the spring months.
Post offices throughout the county are participating. Watsonville Post Office raised 42,000 pounds of food last year, and they hope to exceed that number this year. The public is welcome to join the kick-off and get motivated! Hope to see you there!
