The morning fog burned off and Thursday July 10th turned out to be a perfect day to celebrate our Wall of Hope donors.
The Wall of Hope is located at the entrance to Second Harvest. The project originated in 2008 to raise funds for the second phase of our expansion campaign, including a new training center, nutrition education kitchen, offices, and landscaping.
We began offering tiles again in 2014. The new tiles were installed in June and the funds raised go directly toward feeding hungry people.
All of our Wall of Hope tile donors were invited to the luncheon and we were extremely pleased to have such a nice turnout. There was plenty of time for photos and conversation as guests enjoyed lunch prepared by Monterey Bay Teen Challenge and served by Second Harvest staff.
Willy Elliott-McCrea, Second Harvest Executive Director, gave his famous nickel tour of the warehouse after lunch.
Wall of Hope tiles are available to purchase for installation in 2015. They are a wonderful way to commemorate graduations, anniversaries, and special remembrances.
Thank you to all our Wall of Hope donors for your support and commitment to providing healthy food and nutrition education in our community.
