Waiters Race to Support Second Harvest

As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, Soif, a downtown wine bar, restaurant and wine shop, sponsored the first ever waiter relay race on Walnut Avenue. Owner Patrice Boyle said she hopes to make the race an annual event.

Three-person relay teams from eight different restaurants competed in the race. The top teams won wine. Pasatiempo’s Hollins House took first place and Stockton Bridge Grill came in second. The People’s Choice award went to 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall. Other contestants included Soif, La Posta, Takara and Shadowbrook.

Each of the participating restaurants is donating a $100 gift certificate to be auctioned off at Chefs’ Dinner on September 13th, an annual fund raiser for Second Harvest’s Food For Children program. Tickets for Chefs’ Dinner are on sale now.

Thanks to Soif for serving up a really fun community event that will also provide thousands of meals for local children.
