Bob Cadwalader aka Produce Bob

Bob Cadwalader, also known as Produce Bob, has been volunteering with Second Harvest for the past nine years. He started by helping with customer service in our agency shopping/distribution area, where he also promotes the health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables. When I first started working for Second Harvest Food Bank back in December 2007, Produce Bob was one of the first volunteers to welcome me at the food bank.

Bob wears many hats. He’s no longer known just as Produce Bob but also as an ambassador of Second Harvest. He is a mover and a shaker and he makes things happen! Bob leads by example, he promotes healthy eating and eats healthy as well. He helps with CalFresh (formerly food stamps) and volunteer outreach; visiting Sacramento from time to time to advocate against budget cuts to Calfresh, Cal-Works and food insecurity.

Bob’s famous quote is, “Tell me about the victories.” He likes to hear the testimonies of how the food bank is empowering and encouraging its employees, volunteers and of those participating in our network of more than 200 agencies and programs.

Bob and his wife Robin have lived in the Watsonville area for over 25 years. He has five children and 14 grandchildren and is a devoted Christian.
