You can help raise food and funds simply by eating and shopping at local businesses in November.
Hula’s Island Grill and Tiki Room is donating 10% of its sales each Monday in November to Second Harvest. Visit Hula’s for Mahalo Mondays and start your week off right. You’ll enjoy delicious food in a fun atmosphere and help your neighbors in need at the same time. Last year, Hula’s raised 4,772 meals through this program.
For every ten pounds of Smart Chicken purchased by customers during November, New Leaf Community Markets and MBA Poultry, Smart Chicken producer, will donate one pound of poultry to Second Harvest. Meat is the most expensive item for the food bank to purchase and highly valued by its clients at its 200 member agencies and programs. Since 2006 the groups have donated about 20,307 pounds of the chicken to the food bank.
We are extremely grateful to these local businesses for their ongoing support and generosity. Working with the community, they are making a big difference for people in need.
