Toyota of Santa Cruz Raises 6,660 Meals

Toyota of Santa Cruz sponsored a turkey drive on Thursday, November 15th. They asked employees and customers to donate a frozen turkey for Second Harvest. Turkey donations amounted to more than 300 pounds. When combined with cash donations, the total meals raised equals 6,660.

Toyota has participated in the Holiday Food Drive for several years; this year they wanted to sizably increase their donation. Alixa Jones, Administration and Parts department, explains, “Toyota of Santa Cruz got involved because not only did we want to give back to the community, once we learned how many children were going hungry in Santa Cruz it tugged on our heart strings.”

“We are so pleased with how involved both our customers and employees were, even with the short window we had for this drive,” she added. The goal for Toyota of Santa Cruz was to raise as many meals as a Toyota Tacoma weighing in at 5,800 pounds. Congratulations! Job well done.
