RDO Equipment Donates Dinner Proceeds

A surprise visit from Adam Jacop and Greg McCready of RDO Equipment on a rainy Thursday morning brightened our day. They stopped by to deliver $960 raised at the Farmer’s Dinner they sponsored the night before for local businesses.

The dinner takes place at Mike’s in Castroville on the third Wednesday of every month. A different business sponsors the dinner each time, with the proceeds going to the host’s charity of choice. The majority of businesses that attend the event are family owned farms and equipment retailers, some from as far away as King City.

RDO Equipment is a family owned and operated business with 60 locations in nine states and 1,700 employees. The company sells quality brands such as John Deere and focuses on agriculture, construction, environmental, tree care, underground, and machine control.

One of the core values of RDO is to partner with the community. They track the hours their employees spend volunteering and regularly donate use of their equipment. In addition, each employee is given $150 annually for charitable giving. Three employees in Watsonville chose Second Harvest in 2012, donating a total of $450.

Thanks to RDO and their employees for helping to make our community stronger.
