Proceeds from West Side Wineries Provide 7,000 Meals

L-R: Lori-Jo, Brandi & Lance Campbell, Laura of Copius Winery

Several local wineries got together on Saturday, June 25th to kick off the summer with live music, raffle prizes, gourmet food, wine and a silent auction. Proceeds donated from the event will provide 7,000 meals through Second Harvest’s Food For Children program.

This is an especially good time to host a fund raising event; donations made by August 15th, 2011 will be matched by the Helen and Will Webster Foundation. That means every dollar raised during this time period provides eight meals.

“We have worked with Second Harvest for a while,” said Gerry Turgeon of Trout Gulch Vineyards. “We would like to continue this event and others like it in the future.”

It’s great when the community comes together to help our neighbors in need. Thanks to everyone who participated.
