The Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture and Mica Cellars put on a fun neighborhood event on Friday evening, October 26th for nearby businesses and chamber members. The get together was held at the winery on Hanger Way in Watsonville. In addition to wine tasting, popular Watsonville restaurant, Second Street Café, provided an enticing array of appetizers.
Proceeds from the raffle as well as $5 from every bottle of wine sold at the event were donated to Second Harvest and will provide 904 meals to hungry people in Santa Cruz County.
“Mica makes some great local wines that folks need to check out,” said Steve Bennett, Development Director at Second Harvest. “A big thank you to Mica for opening his doors and hosting this event. The money raised is helping to feed a lot of folks in our county.”
There’s still time to pick up a delicious bottle of wine, shop local and help your neighbors in need. For each bottle of wine purchased at retail price between now and Thanksgiving, Mica Cellars will donate $5 to Second Harvest. That’s 20 healthy meals for every bottle sold!
