Join The MAH and Support the Holiday Food Drive

The Museum of Art & History is donating $10 from every new membership sold during November to Second Harvest’s Holiday Food Drive. We can provide four meals for every dollar raised, so joining now or buying a gift membership for a friend will provide forty meals to families in need.

The MAH offers fun, affordable events and exhibits throughout the year. During the month of November the museum has several fabulous food-themed events planned, including:

November 10^th: Bubbles and Cheer tasting night

November 12^th: Play with your Food

November 18^th: Radical Craft Night including workshops, demonstrations, collaborations, performances, and music.

The Museum of Art & History was hopping on First Friday with people from all over coming out to enjoy free admission and extended hours. Second Harvest’s Nutrition Programs group did an amazing job serving up chicken and vegetarian tostadas, pico de gallo fruit salad with cucumber and jicama, and aguas frescas made with seasonal fruit. “People really enjoyed our Latino recipes made healthier,” said Brooke Johnson, Chief Operations and Programs Officer at Second Harvest.

“The need for food aid in Santa Cruz County is up 38.3% since 2008,” said Second Harvest Chief Development Officer Danny Keith.  “We’re feeding over 55,000 people each month and with a goal 2.5M pounds of food and cash equivalent for the Holiday Food Drive year, we couldn’t be happier to have the MAH on our team.”
