Fifth Annual Taste of Soquel Raises 35,200 Meals

Once again, the weather was perfect for A Taste of Soquel. This fun filled day of “Food and Music for the Common Good” co-sponsored by the  Congregational Church of Soquel and the Capitola/Soquel Chamber of Commerce, took place on Saturday, September 28th in the courtyard of the Church. The event raised 35,200 meals, bringing their five year total to 140,000 healthy meals for people in need.

Ralph Anybody, KPIG DJ, served as emcee, with live music from local musicians, Bryn Loosley and the Back Pages, The McCoy Tyler Band, Farmers Market String Band, and Flor de Caña.

Local Restaurants offering tastes included Café Cruz, Aldo’s, Carpo’s, D’Anna’s Deli, Main Street Garden Café, Sawasdee, The Fish Lady and Aldo’s Bakery.


Soquel Vineyards, Bargetto Winery, Hunter Hill Vineyard & Winery and Poetic Cellars hosted wine tastings and were joined by new kid on the block, Discretion Brewing.

Local, farm fresh tastings were offered up by Fogline Farm, Cherryvale Farms and Jeff Walls’ Family Honey.


Over 60 local businesses donated raffle prizes.

The hospitality table included complimentary coffee, tea, lemonade, ice water and food offerings from the Bagelry and Donut Station.

We’d like to express our deepest appreciation to everyone involved in Taste of Soquel for the time and effort it takes to pull off this event that brings the community together to help our neighbors in need. We’re looking forward to next year!
