Every Little Bit Really Helps!

Two young brothers, Solomon and Mordecai, were charged with deciding where to donate funds collected from family members at a recent dinner. They wanted to use the money to feed hungry children. Solomon and his grandmother personally delivered a check for $139.50. Since Second Harvest can provide four healthy meals for every $1 donated, that’s 556 meals.
Thanks to the whole family for the contribution and to Solomon for brightening our morning with his visit!

The fourth, fifth and sixth grade Independent Leadership class at Pacific Elementary School in Davenport collected donations in their community for five local organizations they want to support; Second Harvest was one of them. We received a check for $16.00 and a nice note signed by all the kids:

“These donations came from our small community, collected over a couple of months. We hope that even this small contribution can be used toward helping your cause. We are happy to help.”

Thanks kids! You raised 64 meals for people in need in Santa Cruz County.
