The 13th Annual Chefs’ Dinner was truly a night to remember: delicious food and delightful people on a beautiful late summer evening in Santa Cruz. The sold out event raised 566,400 meals for the Food For Children program, which will provide kids throughout Santa Cruz County with the healthy food they need to thrive.
Donna Maurillo, Food Contributor for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, was the emcee for the evening, which began at six with guests enjoying assorted hors d’oeuvres as they chatted and perused the enticing array of silent auction items.
After Second Harvest CEO, Willy Elliott-McCrea, welcomed the group, dinner was served.
Everyone always has a great time at this well loved event that provides an opportunity for local chefs to showcase their talents as our community joins together to help local families experiencing food insecurity.
Every child should have access to the nutritious food they need to be successful. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way—as a volunteer or with a donation—you are making a difference—and for that we are truly grateful! All meals will be distributed through our network of over 200 agencies and programs throughout Santa Cruz County.
Special thanks to “NoNette” for the live music, our board members, and sponsors for the event: Alexis Party Rental, Kitayama Brothers, Community Printers and Peet’s Coffee.
